Oreo and Cream Layer Cake
Did anyone mention oreo and cream?
In this demonstration I have used crushed oreo cookies as a filling element between layers. However, an even better idea would have been to use the separated whole cookies (without the cream). They should be lightly dipped in milk so they are not too hard.
Note that when adding oreo crumbs to the icing cream, the more you mix it, the browner the color of the cream will be.
The main concept of this design is the domed structure of this layer cake. In order to make it, you will need to use a flexible cake comb, or even a piece of acetate. You may need to practice a bit to work on the correct opening angle of the comb in order to achieve a dome to your liking. The crown formed while icing the cake with the comb, are used as a border to a cavity which can be filled with milk chocolate ganache.
